##Disability
"I know a lot of sex workers who live with disabilities ...
"For me, sex work brought financial independence despite remaining single and being refused NDIS."

Ditching the shame as a sex worker living with a disability
I have a genetic connective tissue disorder, which makes everyday activities difficult. In my unconventional body, I chose unconventional work: sex work.

This is appalling. Systems failure yes, but also a simple lack of people showing any kind of care for another person. /despicable to leave someone in that position. www.rnz.co.nz/news/regions... #accessibikity #discrimination #transport #disability

It's #MedicaidMonday!

On Oct. 29, a federal judge ruled that CMS exceeded its authority when it added an extra hurdle to Medicaid’s “medically frail” exemption. The fight isn’t over, but happy to have a win to share! Join us!

Oh ffs I didn't know this. This is disastrous. The government only wheels in Wessley when they want to save money, specifically by fucking over #disabled people by pretending they aren't disabled.

That's all he does. #disability #pip #dwp

These essays touch on issues of #disability & #ChronicIllness in addition to #neurodiversity, so I especially recommend Rare Good to friends dealing with one (or all) of these things in relation to art-making and living a life well-rooted in the more-than-human world. I can't stop thinking about it.
I've been reading Rare Good by @the-big-quiet.bsky.social this week on my morning coffee breaks. It's an inspiring, humane, necessary book on creativity, community, and the writing craft, with incisive reflections on reading and writing from neurodiverse perspectives. Please don't miss this one.

Getting a diagnosis is ultimately a personal choice when it’s not forced on you, and people deserve the grace and benefit of the doubt that comes with identity comfort, safety, and accessibility. Be kind to people, and try not to make assumptions.

This goes to my fellow disabled people, who cant go out party, cant go for a simple walk... cant even go outside do stuff feeling safe because society does not care about their safety, can't bother to mask.

I am sorry life is hard & not fair. 🫂
