Google Play System Update was a feature that was introduced for devices that ship with Android 10 or newer. It's mandatory for device manufacturers that plan to release their devices with Android 10 to support Google Play System Updates. As a result, non-Google devices, such as Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets released with Android 10 (One UI 2.1), can receive such updates, too.

Since our last support status change on May 2026, we have reviewed our support policy after the end of support for Terminaux 6.x and 7.x on August 5th. After our evaluation of the support policy, we've determined that the following changes have been made, effective October 1st: According to our official operating system support policy, we will no longer support macOS 14 and FreeBSD 15.0, both of which will be out of support on October 1st and September 30th, respectively.

A project, which was in development since 2019 with very little appearance, has shown up this week, with a very interesting project that the team behind it is so excited to announce. This project is called Vitruvian OS, which combines the simplicity of BeOS (and Haiku) with the modernity of Linux to build an ultimate system intended to run BeOS applications under the Linux kernel!

For half a century, the UNIX v4 tape was not found, until this year. Everything changed when staff members at the University of Utah have found the UNIX v4 tape while cleaning out storage rooms. That was a very strong sign that the computer history was preserved and archived by those who make archives of old operating systems and other computer-related things.

During the first half of 2026, we have gone through a massive milestone that revolutionized our branding, with our new identity that has become stronger and more widespread. This move has given us new opportunities to move forward and set a brighter future while continuing to work on our projects. Our branding has gone through many stages of improvements, including our logo and our projects' logo, as well as colors and aesthetics.

Yesterday, we announced a new design that the Aptivi Blog has now used, with support for more responsive elements that adapt to different viewports, such as phones, laptops, and computers. In addition to the usability improvements that we've made, we've also redesigned most of the blog site elements, such as the blog post viewer, search and contact pages, and the homepage.

When Terminaux 6.1.x and 7.0.x were released, we gave them the dates that we are expected to stop providing further updates for these version series. Terminaux 6.1.x focused on adding wrapped writers and modern argument parsing from the Nitrocid codebase, which was an improvement over version 6.0.x that added many features. Meanwhile, v7.0.x focused on adding more features while restructuring critical parts of code and improving the writers.

On August 27th, 2023, Mageia 9 was released to bring new features and enhanced performance, as well as other improvements to the operating system based on Linux. Since then, it received more than 20,000 updates to a wide variety of packages to ensure that your system stays stable and secure. Mageia 10 was released this year to modernize parts of the system, ensuring that the design is more consistent than before, as well as other improvements and new features.

Samsung has recently released One UI 9.0 to the public, starting from the Galaxy S26 series in Korea. It provides you with an upgraded software experience on your Galaxy phone and an up-to-date Android 17 with new privacy and other features, along with added Galaxy AI features, such as My FanCam. Now, Samsung has made One UI 9.0 available for those who are using an active T-Mobile carrier plan in the US.

We are very excited to announce that the new design for both the Aptivi Newsroom website and the API documentation site is now available! This plan was an extension to the redesign project of the Aptivi Blog that was done earlier.
