Playing with #FreePascal in #CompilerExplorer.

Lines 22 and 23 produce less machine code than lines 25 and 26, yet end up with the same result - trimming the last character from the last item in a TStringList.

ですです。ループ内で分岐判定を行うのは重いので事前にループ回数を求めてしまう。おっしゃる通りで応用できる場面は多いですね。
これができれば、ループブロック内は本来やりたい処理だけに注力でき、一度に回せるループ回数も上限まで高めることができます。
この状態ならフィルタ関数自体は呼び出し回数が一気に少なくなるのでinline指定も無くて構わないレベルになりますし、
関数まるごとCompilerExplorerに入れてアセンブリにして.Sファイルに分離してSIMD化を検討する、のも良さそう。

On my recent India visit, I gave multiple academic talks to 200+ CS students and 30+ faculty. Regrettably, I did not once use/mention Compiler Explorer. 🥺

The topics did not lend themselves to bringing up Compiler Explorer, but still I feel ungrateful, like I let down someone. 😳

I was so hoping I could include JUnit with Java compiler/executor on Compiler Explorer, but alas. 😞

I don't know how hard it is to accomplish, but I filed a library request. Please vote and opine:

I filed a feature request for #CompilerExplorer
to "add executor" to "Conformance View" to make it easier to see results and save screen space.

As an educator, I know students mostly need/want to see execution results, not assembly.

Can you show what do you mean by manual implementation that captures function pointers.

Is it Struct with fields that contains pointers to functions that can be called for relevant "Trait".

I have my custom C++ XML serialization stuff working pretty well now. I don't think I can really make it do everything I want until production g++ and clang++ have C++26 static reflection implemented. I've used CompilerExplorer to verify that the experimental EDG compiler and Bloomberg clang++ […]

I tried #dlang's ctRegex (#cpp's #CTRE equivalent) in #compilerexplorer and it timeouts everytime after 30 seconds. I can't compare the assembly :(
